The Agolanti Castle, which carries the name of the Tuscan family who possessed it for many generations, is a building rich in history.
It probably rises on a preexisting building and was used by the Agolantis as a country residence, both to keep control on their farming activities and as a holiday and representation resort.
Documents of the time talk about a prestigious book collection and a small church, which make us realize the splendor of this fortress. Later, thanks to its fortunate position, the Castle assumed the role of observation post and outpost.
